SOP Translation Standard

This standard defines how Sea Cool SOPs should be created and translated between English and Spanish so both versions stay aligned and usable.

1. Source of Truth

English is the source-of-truth version for every SOP. Spanish versions are translations of the approved English master.

2. Build Order

  1. Write the English section first.
  2. Approve or stabilize that section.
  3. Translate that section into Spanish.
  4. Review both versions together for meaning alignment.

3. Translation Style

  • Spanish should sound natural, not literal.
  • Keep important software, product, and tool names in English when needed.
  • Keep important company vocabulary in English if that is how the team actually uses it.
  • Do not force awkward Spanish for terms like TintWiz, HubSpot, CRM, or similar tool names.

4. Structure Rules

  • The English and Spanish versions should keep the same section order.
  • Section numbering should match.
  • If one version is incomplete, it should clearly say so.

5. Conflict Rule

If there is a conflict between English and Spanish, the English master controls until the translation is corrected.
